The genre is horrorcore -- a blend of hip-hop, rock and hyper-violent, unrelentingly vulgar lyrics -- and it's been linked to a series of murders across the country, most recently in Mont Vernon, where Kimberly Cates was killed and her daughter seriously injured in early morning attacks two weeks ago today.
Experts stress that music -- no matter how violent its lyrics -- doesn't cause violent crime, but some warn that an affinity for horrorcore could be a sign that the listener is heading down a dangerous road. Read more...
